Who are you/what do you do?

I’m a Crystal Healer, Reiki Master, Herbalist, Author and Designer based in Los Angeles, CA. I grew up in the mountains in Utah, before moving to NY and LA to dance professionally. I transitioned from dance into fashion and then my passions became woven together when I launched my wellness footwear company ASTARA.  

First thing you do in the morning?

The first thing I do upon waking is breathwork and meditation, anywhere from 10 minutes to 2hrs (depending upon day). It’s my time to truly plug into myself and my own energy field before I start the day and helps maintain alignment and balance.  

What is your wellness philosophy?

Living, eating, moving, being, creating, breathing intuitively. Ive always had a sensitive system, both physically and energetically and I’ve found throughout the years that the needs of my body, mind and spirit change, so I’ve learned to truly nourish my needs intuitively vs. adhering to a specific diet plan or rigid workout regimen. Some months (or years) my body craves a vegan diet, other times (usually in the winter) my body needs more lean, hormone-free meat and a modified paleo diet. I was a professional dancer so Ive been highly in tune with body from a very young age and while I’ve always eaten very healthy, I’ve learned balance, moderation and truly listening to my body’s needs is the healthiest approach for myself. 

What are your favorite therapies, drs or support system?

Nature truly is my medicine, and through the practice of earthing, and working with herbs and minerals Ive been able to heal myself from several autoimmune issues. I work with crystals both personally and with my line ASTARA and working with minerals has helped to heal my body on an energetic level which in turn assisted on a physical level. My support team also includes esoteric acupuncture with Mikio Sankey, quantum sphere energy healing with Susan Hassen, integrative medicine with Dr. Fradin-Read, sports medicine/chiropractor with Dr. Ira Schneider, ozone therapy and infrared sauna therapy. 

Do you have any routines or rituals?

I work with the lunar cycles each month, as well as the seasonal equinoxes and solstices. Lunar and seasonal rituals help me to ground and anchor moments of time within my own life as a reflection of nature’s cycles, as well as harness the potent energy available from planetary and celestial alignments. I always tune into the New Moon and Full Moon cycles each month. These cycles truly act as grounding points for me throughout the month and year and work naturally with the rhythms of the body as opposed to a calendar system. My new book Crystal Healing for Women has several rituals to work with alongside minerals and herbs to tune into the seasonal changes and moon cycles.
